Relaxation of work visa conditions in Western Australia; Immigration will be made easier

A number of relaxations in nominated visa conditions have been announced to address the shortage of skilled workers in Western Australia.

The Government of Western Australia is trying to attract more skilled workers from overseas by relaxing several conditions like work experience, English language proficiency, and bank account balance. In the 2022-23 financial year, 8,140 people will be granted government-nominated visas in Western Australia. This is more than double the previous year.

These changes will make it easier for people in many occupations to migrate to Western Australia

The most important change is the expansion of the list of jobs for state government sponsorship. More than 100 new professions have been included in this, including 46 professions in the health sector.

These tables can be used to immigrate to the state on Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 491). Many new careers in the IT sector and engineering sectors have been included in the list.

English Proficiency and Fee relaxation

The Government has also announced several concessions to attract more foreign workers.

  • The $200 application fee for state nominations will be temporarily waived.
  • The exemption is subject to the one-year employment contract. Those who have a six-month employment contract can apply Applicants also change the bank account balance condition.

  • You no longer need to prove that you have $20,000 in savings. All you have to do is show that you have the funds to live here for three months.

  • English language standards will also be relaxed for managers and other professionals.

  • Work experience conditions will also be relaxed for one year.

The unemployment rate in the state has reached its lowest level in history. With this, there is a situation of not getting enough people in the labor market.
