Australia has one of the largest immigration programs in the world. Although the migration from abroad has been temporarily reduced due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the recovery process has been started.
Immigration plans in Australia are subject to major changes each year. The pattern of immigration changes from time to time according to social, political, and economic conditions. Australia’s current policy is to allow about 160,000 people a year for permanent residency.
Australian Skilled stream visas are the most widely available in the Permanent Migration Scheme. That is, a scheme to attract the skilled workers required by the country and to issue permanent visas. Skilled stream visas are divided into several categories: Skilled Independent, Employer-Sponsored, Regional, State / Territory Nominated, Business Skills, and Global Talent Independent.
Know the most important of these
Skilled Independent 189 Visa
Skilled migration visas 189, 190, and 491 are also known as point-tested visas. According to the Australian Skilled Visa point system, only those with at least 65 points can apply. Individual point is determined by the applicant’s age, educational qualifications, work experience, English language proficiency, and partner’s qualifications. Of these, the highest number of applicants is for subclass 189 and 190 visas. These visas can only be applied for by the issuer of an expression of interest and an invitation from the government. One such method is to prevent the accumulation of applications for these visas.
Holders of Subclass 189 visas can live and work in any part of Australia
State and Territory Sponsored Visa – Subclass 190
These are visas sponsored by any state or territory. Each state and territory has different criteria for granting sponsorship. These are in addition to the visa criteria. States and territories can nominate Subclass 190 for permanent visas or Subclass 491 for a provisional visa. If the nomination is received by the state, the applicant will get five extra points. This nomination will help you to earn the required points to apply for point-tested visas. Although the points are calculated in a similar way to the Skilled Independent Visa or Subclass 189, the procedure for applying for these nominated visas is different.
The first step is to apply for a nomination from the State / Territory Government. Once it is received, you can apply for a 190 visa
Employer Nomination Scheme – Subclass 186
As part of the scheme, Australian employers will be able to sponsor people with skills in specific occupations for permanent residency. Only people under the age of 45 can apply for this visa. Must have three years of work experience and excellent English proficiency in their profession. The Occupation of the applicant should be on the Skilled Occupation List. You will also need to complete a skill assessment. In the wake of the Covid epidemic, the government had announced that many jobs in the medical, engineering, and nursing sectors would be given priority for employer-sponsored visas. This is known as the Priority Occupation List.
